What are your qualifications?
My key qualifications include NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Advice and Guidance, Health and Safety, First Aid and ILM Line Management. I am also a fully qualified ASA Level 1, 2 and Disability Swimming Teacher. My experience of working with partner organisations includes Alzheimer's Society (I'm a Dementia friend) Macmillan Cancer Support, Sight Advice South Lakes, Oaklea Trust, South Lakeland Mind and more.
Are you insured?
Yes, I have personal care insurance through sector specialists Direct Care, alongside business use car insurance; both of which are required to run the services I am offering through Day to Dave. I also have a current enhanced DBS certificate (required for my additional role as a swimming teacher)
Are the activities and services just for older people?
The activities and services on offer are suitable for all ages from 18+ and I although I have gained excellent experience at Age UK and I thoroughly enjoy working with older people , I have also spent many years working in leisure with all ages, so please do get in touch and we can discuss your needs.
Can I meet you first to have a chat?
Yes of course, I would be more than happy to meet you and discuss my services and your ideas in more detail, I can visit you at home or wherever you would prefer, just get in touch and let me know.
How much will you do during the morning or afternoon?
We would work together to plan and structure the sessions, this could vary from one job to several jobs, or simply just spending time together or taking part in an activity.
What area do you cover?
My initial prices are based on a coverage area of within 5 miles of Kendal. I am more than happy to travel to surrounding towns and villages such as Windermere, Grange, Sedbergh etc. and can discuss this with you at the time of enquiry.
I'd like to go on a day trip with you, can you organise this?
If you have ideas about day trips or activities you would like me to take you on, just let me know and we can certainly look into it together.
Do you do cleaning?
Yes, I am very happy to offer additional basic cleaning services alongside my other activities if you would like me to.
When are you available?
I am happy to be flexible and can start days earlier, from 8.00am and work through to the early evening - depending on what you would prefer. Generally bookings will be Monday-Friday but if you have a special activity or need some help on a certain weekend just let me know.
